Jon Beinart

Revisiting Jon Beinart. He's built himself a big little collective of surrealist artists of varying quality and originality. I originally posted a bunch of his Crustaceous Toddlerpedes. These hideously segmented sculptures remind me of the beautiful balloon sculptures of Jason Hackenwerth posted earlier this month.  The two bodies (no pun intended!) of work both have human aspects - Jon's doll-parts-as-materials and Jason's wear-it,-it's-a-costume - and both are surreally modelled after more simple, segmented, worm-like life forms.

THE ORIGINAL (as far as I can tell)
